Been to Redworth Hall (2002) and Stirling Highland (2003). Both were before Barcelo took over, but both were very nice - we met the Ipswich footy team at Redworth Hall - they stayed there before playing Newcastle.

We've booked today, 2 nights double room B & B £158. Room only was £98. Surely 2 days brekkie doesn't cost £60 for 2 people As we are using our Tesco vouchers we have to book the B & B.

4* hotels do now charge about £15 per person for breakfast.

Barcelo Daventry. Room only £49 per night. B & B £79 per night. My daughter is staying room only, & going into town for brekkie. As we're using our Tesco vouchers we have to go for the best available B & B rate I can't wait to see this breakfast

My friends just been to the one in Macclesfield had a terrible time. Paid with tesco vouchers the meals didnt cover the children, their meals came to quite a lot of money and the service was very slow (and the meals for all of them were bad, so bad that they ate out after the first night). The room was terrible, lift didn't work, breakfast was terrible, staff were terrible I think you get the picture.

I'm glad we're only staying the 2 nights then! My sister lives not far from the one that we're staying in and she says it has a good reputation - let's hope it lives up to it.

Have stayed at the Imperial in Blackpool on a number of occasions and love it!
Have stayed at the Palace in Buxton as well and though we love it recognise that it is lovely if you love old hotels - if you want modern then dont book a hotel built in the C19th !

We usually only use hotels for sleeping & showering, so aren't concerned about luxury, as long as its clean and has a half way decent bed, I'm sure we'll be fine.
