Barcelona to Cap Salou

We are due to travel with our ,then, 2 year old from Barcelona to Cap Salou. We fly to Barcelona but then have 2 nights to arrange hotel for for 2 nights before then travelling down to Cap Salou, probably by the train (done that on previous years but stayed in Calafell then and notice train route doesn't go as far as CAP Salou!?

)

Any advice on travel and where to arrange Hotel in Barcelona closer to : Near the railway or near to attractions and which one would be more central and for ease of getting about with a pushchair. We'll only have our main luggage with us on first day and I think i'd rather be in central parts for our two night hotel stay.

Any help and advice gratefully received.

hi Kaldous....cant help you with the hotel in Barcelona....but if your using the train to travel from barcelona to Cap Salou dont fret.....the train from barcelona stops in the old part of salou....from there you can get a bus to cap salou....it runs regular....tweetie

ps...noticed you have littlun .....good idea would to pick up anything you might need for him/her from the big supermarket a few minutes walk from the station think its called the Mercadona....its like an asda...can get anything there....its where the locals go so cheaper

tweetie - thanks for your help. Yes we have the little one with us otherewise we would just get on with it but want to have a bit more of an idea so we can have a stress free time!! Thankyou for the info on train / bus & the supermarket, brilliant.

hi kaldous.....its a while since Ive been to Salou....but its not a station just a stop ...its right next to the main road....and once you leave the platform where you get of and are standing on the main road ....the supermarket is on the opposite side ....set back ...but cant remember if you can see it ....somewhere behind the shops....Ive not got a full memory of it now ...but hope this helps...its a really big supermarket like asda.....as it was right by the Salou station thought it might be handy for you....tweetie
