Haven't driven it, but from day-tripping to Barca, i seem to recall it taking around an hour and a half from Estartit!

I would allow about 2 hours or so to get from Barcelona Airport (which is south west of the city) up to Estartit. The fastest route would be on the main motorway the A7 (tolls payable) unless you wanted to take the scenic route. Leave the motorway at the Girona north junction and follow the route towards La Bisbal (C66) through Flaca, Parlava, Torroella de montgri and this should get you to Estartit without too much trouble (see map link below)
