Hi,
I'm posting this on behalf of my sister. She is going to Barcelona in December & has never been before. She is staying in the Barcelona Universal Hotel which was recommended due to it's city centre location. The things shed like to know really is any advice or tips, best way to get around, what areas to visit/stay away from & most importantly what attractions to visit as this is her first time & she is only going for 4 nights.
Any help is much appreciated.
You'll find lots of helful info on this thread on the City Breaks forum for her

This goes to all the major sights where you can get off, have look around and then jump the next bus that comes along. There is a commentary in various languages , happily including English, via a set of headphones which you receive when getting on the bus which starts in the centre of the city at Playa de Catalunya. You also get a full route map and a book on discount vouchers for the various attractions. One ticket covers all 3 routes and you can change routes at various stops on the way around.
Barcelona has the best zoo I have ever been to.
I would highly recommend doing several things like going to Park guell, sagrada familia, tibidabo, getting the go car barcelona, vespa etc. The easiest way to book activities in advance is using websites such as Tripobox Or Viator.
Ive used both tools but personally prefer Tripobox because you can book several activities at once especially with a group and split costs!
I high recommend taking a ride on the gocar! Its the best!
Enjoy
That Tibidabo amusement park trip at the top of the mountain looks like it could make for a special day out.
While we were in Barcelona on Thursday one of the biggest demonstrations i've ever seen happened. I think it was to do with cuts to education, but we found our selves in the middle of it and it was brilliant. The teachers or whoever they were, were banging drums and waving flags and holding up banners and i was milling round them taking photos and made myself a short video. The police were out in numbers, but as far as i could tell weren't needed..
I love Barcelona !
