You are in a good area for good bars come out the front of ps2 turn left walk 100yds on your left is a side walk good bars down there brewers droop for 1 back upto the top turn left walk past Los Angeles resturant/ bar cross road and in front of you is the full monty great for a late night early morning drink one of the best in that area is Shenanigans with one of the best acts in PDLA (i think) Loony Tunes Freddie and Dave fantastic double act this is down the side of the full monty under neath Spanish style (best booze prices around) and then there is the Dubliner another good pub for a good breakfast walk down the side street that Shenanigans is in towards the sea and you will see a bar/ cafe on your right called JAGS 3.00-4.00 EURO good value food aswell another just past there is the Lancashire pride i think thats what its called some other good pubs in that area is the Railway Inn and the Bell good prices they are next to Las Palmeras Hotel it is a very good area for everything shops supermarkets and upmarket shops not to far in the Safari centre just ask how to get to Parque Santiago 3 and 5 are hope this helps.

Just wondered what the Caberet scene is like nowadays, its 2 years since our last visit & understand that things are a lot quieter nowadays. We're staying at the Laguna 1 in Costa Adeje at Easter & remember that the San Eugine was good for a laugh, is there anything else happening in that area (or a bit further afield) that anybody can recommend.. we like a bit of comedy.
Thanks
When I go to Tenerife I stay in the Torviscas area. For the past 2 years I have been visiting Oscars Entertainment Bar just round the corner from the Bouganville Hotel within walking distance of San Eugine. They have great cabarets every night, and it is good for families. They also do meals.
They now have 2 of the best comperes in the business Val Richardson and Eddie Hastings.
If you want a good laugh that is also family friendly try to see the cabaret act Bitter and Twisted. They appear at Oscars each week and I am sure you will have a great laugh.
Want a quick look at what has gone on there they do have a website with photos, menu and directions
Thanks for that matiz, Val Richardson was she at the Tucan a couple of years ago?
She is at Oscars every night now. The Tucan closed over a year ago.
Val also has a show on Power Fm radio in Tenerife.
She writes a daily blog for them on the website as well as writing for The Paper(english paper) in Tenerife. This is also availavle online to read. I know you will have a good night if you go to Oscars
For the last 2 years we have been to Cafe de Paris (close to the patch on the seafront) and have watched a really good guitarist by the name of Ian Rockliffe, my boss was in Tenerife in January and said that there was no entertainment on there whilst he was there, has he moved on if so does anyone know where to because we want to see him again when we visit in September.
Hi Ian had gone back to the Sax Bar when we were there in January.Sax bar is on the patch.
Los Cristianos a report on 3 bars we saw entertainment in.
chicago's
dreamers
O' Flaherty's.
OK we all know different shows are can better than others on different nights different crowds etc, so this is my opinion on the nights we saw the acts.
MR D.--soul & motown---very good>O' Flaherty's.
Topaz.--soul & motown--very good > chicago's
2 girls doing tribute to MAMA MIA--very good >chicago's
meat loaf--very good, puts everything into it> chicago's
ROD STEWART--rubbish >chicago's
FREDDIE STAR --excellent (starts as FREDDIE STAR for 2 minutes then himself) >dreamers
CY ROBSON--soul + mixed--good >dreamers
RONAN KEATING--POOR >O' Flaherty's.
Amy WinehousE--SO SO >dreamers
I think the other girl was SUSAN KENNEDY--OK >dreamers
BUT THE BEST WITHOUT DOUBT WAS "George King (comedian)"
what a night tears streaming down peoples faces and sore bellies with laughter.
this bloke was on the old comedians TV show (showing my age now) and believe it or not, its a comedy show "WITHOUT SWEARING" great to hear someone can still do that without all the foul language. >dreamers

I'd like to know why it shut as well, we had some great times there, but I must admit it was in need of a refurb.
You have to have a special gambling licence to play (crazy I know) a few pubs have fallen foul of this law and been fined.
I would have thought Tucan was big enough tohave done the job right though.

I can confirm that the Tucan closed as it was sold. Not because of any other issues. If you want a good night out and to see Val Richardson from The Tucan go to Oscars Entertainment Bar. She now works there each night of the week with a co-compere called Eddie Hastings (Glam Slam/Tuxedo Knights). Oscars is only a couple of minutes walk from where The Tucan was. To find Oscars take the road to the left of the Bouganville Hotel (when stood at the front). when you can see the shops at the bottom just round a small bend you will see Oscars on your left.
They also have a website and a Facebook page. I am going in June. See you all there
