When on holiday we can often let our guard slip which can mean getting scammed, hurt or being involved in an accident.
When in a bar, never leave your drink unattended as you can risk it being spiked. This happened to a relative of mine who was lucky he was with friends.
Another thing to be aware of- when getting a taxi after your flight, make sure you go to the official taxi rank. Don't be led off by someone who says he has a taxi for you. This could be an uninsured driver. or have a meter which has been tampered with, or worse still, has no intention of driving you to your destination.
Find out if there are no go areas. This is particularly the case in cities.
If you take medication, check if your destination has any restrictions or banned medications. Dubai is one place where a lot of people get caught out.
