Hi Guys,
I recently bought a last minute ticket from Copenhagen to Manchester with Easyjet. When i tried to check in online i kept getting an error message saying it wasnt working. I tried several times in the hours before my flight and in the end gave up and went to the airport. Arriving with plenty of time to spare at the airport (over 2 hours) i tried to use the self service check in machines, again i received an error message.
So still determined to check into my flight i made my way to the Easyjet check in desks and presented my passport and asked to check in to my flight.
The employee looked a bit shocked and said something along the lines of "Dont you have a printed out boarding card? you havent check in online?!"
I informed her it wasnt working online and i had tried but she clearly didnt hear me as she then began to lecture me saying that it is very important that i check in online because they oversell the seats and also resell unchecked in seats.
She told me i was very lucky because she had managed to find me the last seat on the plane.
I decided not to say anything and accept my "luck"
Having paid £160! for the flight the day before (if you book days, weeks in advance you can get it as cheap as £35) i was rather relieved i didn't have to argue with them.
Anyway i guess in short, what im trying to say is, be careful and check in as early as possible.
Sam
A family member had a similar problem with Easyjet online check in last year when going skiing -they had to check in at the airport and were told that online check in closes 24 hours before flight -not sure if thats true or not ??

Online check in closes 2 hours before departure
Shim lad , thanks for warning , good luck you got your " expensive " seat as you quite rightly state that easyjet overbook/oversell seats and very nice of them to lecture you and tell you're lucky ( at having bought the most expensive seat on the plane !! ) nice service
