Probably best just to take £ Sterling with you, take Sterling travellers cheques or notes, you will be able to change some at the airport when you arrive if you wish, you will also be able to change it in resort at your hotel.
If you are taking £ Sterling ensure that it is English currency only, as you won't be able to exchange Scottish notes etc.
If you wish you can also use ATM,s to get money from in resort.
There is a long topic on this subject if you wish to read through it.
