Marmaris or Icmeler plenty for you both to see and do.

What type of holidays do you enjoy? Quiet, relaxing, busy, adventurous?

What accommodation do you usually prefer? Self-catering, B&B, All Incl, Villa Rental?

Do you prefer to spend your time around the pool, or at the beach?

How do you prefer to travel? DIY, Package?

Turkey has a very wide variety of resorts to suit all tastes and pockets, and what is one man's drink, can be another man's poison!

Give us some ideas, and I am sure the forum regulars will be able to suggest something.

Marmaris is OK, but it isn't everyones cup of tea. (Tin Hat?)

Icmeler, is a good resort and has many supporters. I would add Hisaronu, which is up the hill from Olu Deniz, and also perhaps have a look at Altinkum.

Have a look through Resort Reports, and then come back with any further questions.

Just been looking at couple of places in Marmaris, and quite liked them so going to look for some deals now. Its the flight times home that are the prob, have health probs so dont want to be waitin round until early morning,

Depending on where you are flying from, Liverpool or Manchester going by your user name, and if you are on a budget some of the flight times can be a bit naff. Generally I book with Onur Air who are usually amongst the cheaper flights but you do tend to get either a good flight out amd a bad one to return, or vice versa. For example I am fling from Glasgow leaving at 20.05 on a Saturday night, not the best time, bu the return flight leaves Dalalman at 16.45 which is fine.

Typically booking independant can work out cheaper. Personally I find Thomsons to be very expensive, Thomas Cook do seem generally to be chaeper.

Marmaris and Icmeler are both good resorts and are very geared up towards tourists. Other snmaller resorts have a more Turkish feel to them eg Kalkan which might not suit. Having been to numerous Turkish resorts I would certainly recommend Icmeler which is smaller than Marmaris but still plenty to do and see.

If you check out the hotel reviews section on here before you book anywhere to read honest reviews of any accomadation. Personal preference is to go self catering as the food quality in Turkish is excellent and reasonably priced.

If you need any more info shout up, people on here are excellent and very knowledgable

I always stay at Marmaris as that is where the action all is really. I find Thomas cook do quite good deals or give Hays Travel a phone. They will book a package for you. If you want I can pm you a very nice travel agent there who will book your Turkey holiday for you, if you email her your requirements she will look and email you back with options. Then just call her when you want to book. Great service and they were cheaper than going DIY this year.

Turkey flight times are never great unless you get in there quick or are willing to pay good money for a day time flight.

Miray is Central only minutes from the beach and canal area.
Linakers Bar is opposite this hotel and Blondies Bar underneath.
