On some of the holiday programes it shows you menorca and a lovely beach but never tells you which one it is, which is the nicest beach and the flatest resort

Could be Cala Galdana beach as that is the one usually featured in brochures.

Galdana is pretty from afar!!!

When you get near it, the sand has lots of pine needles in it from the trees that surround it!!

Also it is smelly, ie sewers, and on top of the water you can see the petrol floating from the boat hire that goes out from there.

Sorry, but its Arenal d'en castell for me!!! If I had to choose another one it would be Son Bou.

hi
Arenal d'en castell is the best beach i think on menorca. we have been to a few but always return to arenal it is clean, the beach bar has good food, and its sake for the kids

Hello

Yes the beach at Arenal is lovely, but don't use the sunbeds and parasols. They charge around £18 for 2 beds and parasol for the day.
Very greedy! Buy a parasol from the local shops.

I agree with the comment about cala galdana beach and bay being pretty from afar

there is no doubt it is absolutely stunning to look at - but when we went the sea had the toilet waste from the many yachts which were visiting the bay floating in the sea as you paddled in it !!

This was several years ago though - so hopefully they don't let them too close there any more

Apologies about the content of this message for anyone who is about to eat !

I have to say that of all the beaches in Menorca my favourite would have to be the one at Son Parc . It has lovely golden sand, sand dunes for the kids to launch themselves off and you can walk into the sea for quite a bit before it gets too deep so its child friendly.

The beach I'm going to describe isn't a resort you can stay at, but if you get the chance of going there on a boat trip, do visit Cala Pregonda, on the north coast.

It's not accessible by road, I don't think, but some boat trips go there. It got a beach with deep golden sand the colour of ginger nut biscuits! The sea shelves quite steeply, but the water is crystal clear. There's no facilities there as far as I recall (we were there 10 years ago) but we had a wonderful time. 8)

I have just returned and visited just about every beach on the Island, and from what you say the resort/beach may be Sant Tomas, (actually 3 long beaches). We felt tgis was the niucest resort we visited.

In my opinion the best beach is Son Bou - very large bay - golden sands -
beach bars - BUT I agree with other posts - all beaches in Menorca charge TOO much for sunbeds and parasols - it is cheaper to buy a parasol for your holiday and throw it away at the end of your holiday (or take it home).

Cala Galdana is very pretty from a distance! - but is always very busy, again sunbeds etc are expensive and set out in rows!! which I hate. Also full of day trippers, would not stay in that resort due to so many day trippers. Nice to see for a day though!

Santa Thomas is another good resort, with nice beach, greatly improved over last few years, with walk boards all along by the hotels on beach.

Menorca is a lovely island, try it - you will love the place unless you like
loads of big shops, lots of noise and brash English bars - if you want pretty coves, peace and relaxation, feel safe wherever you go - no yobbos - then go there. Been many times - try to go every year - I am well travelled, but have to say it is one of our favourite places in the Summer months.

Good luck

I would have to agree about the lack of yobs . Apart that is from Cala N Forcat. It is probably one of the larger resorts in Menorca and our one stay there put us off Menorca for a couple of years. Yobs galore some of which had families . DONT GO. Best place to stay is Son Blanc aparts in Sa Caleta, nicely out the way with the old capital of Citudela 2 miles away and plenty of good clean family fun on site.

Cala N Bosch is lovely and flat, although the ebach is a little way from some of the apartment complexes. Son Xoiguier beach is lovely. the parasols and beds are expensive everywhere on beaches in menorca, but you can pick up the grass mats very cheaply from the supermarkets!
