I'm looking to buy flights to New York for this summer, flying out around 22nd July and for around 3 weeks - I know! crazy - but I can't deviate from these dates too much.
I understand that this is the peak season, and that flights will be most expensive, but there's no point paying top whack if I don't have to

I've already had a look on Kayak.co.uk, and they're quoting BA and Virgin for £450. Since we've never had to take a summer holiday during kids holidays before (there's a first time for everything I guess!) I 'm just wondering whether this is a good price, or should I wait out until Easter and see what happens? I suppose this is the key thing, is £450 reasonably cheap for peak time transatlantic flights?
It has to be flights only, as we're planning on staying with friends and family for most of the time we are out there.
thanks for any replies
