Spoke to some friends two nights ago who have been in a few times this season (they only reopened about 10 days ago).
Apparently food still lovely but very very busy. Not sure about other Nerul places.

Hi Bhatti Bar phone number is 9822184103. Owner is Patrick. Don't forget there is no menu as such, just a specials board. Patrick will tell you whats on offer when you get there. Hope you enjoy it !

Forgot to say that Bhatti Bar had a brilliant review in the Times of India recently. Patrick has had some family problems and consequently shut for some of the Monsoon. He was back to full capacity immediately on reopening. I usually keep quiet about the place but am in the UK at the moment so I don't mind ;)

No for the past few years he has only ever worked in Nerul :) Before that, he ran his brothers place in Panjim, think it was called Avanti ?

It's about two miles further up the main road from Riverside on your left. Last season they did a great sunday BBQ and also a boat trip. Have been advised that it is up and running, so will be going there in the next few weeks.
It is very pleasant to sit there any lunch time and watch the birds and the river.

We went to Aah Goa when it first opened. Wasnt that impressed with the food, although the setting is gorgeous. It also put us off because vodka was Rs90 for a small measure 30ml (can't remember which make). This may have changed now (hopefully!)

We payed around Rs35 in Bhatti Bar for 60ml Magic Moments vodka, Romanov was even cheaper. Don't know if he's put his prices up this year though but even it he has, it won't be anywhere near that price.

we're staying in baga this year.meant to try bhati bar last year but ran out of time. could we just ask a taxi driver to go there and would it be best to get him to wait,or just get another back? also what time is best to go - do they stay open quite late?
thanks

From Baga, I suggest you arrange your taxi to come back and then its up to him if he wants to wait outside. Bhatti Bar is on a quiet lane so taxis are not always available, although saying that Patrick will always conjour you up one from somewhere!
Remember this is not a 'fast food' place and you may have a wait, sometimes a pretty hefty one especially if they are busy. (this is where the cheap drinks come in handy!!). The only chef is Mercian, who is Patrick's (owner) wife.
All food is cooked to order, with the exception of the Goan specialities such as Cafreal which she prepares daily and is quick to be served. There are only a few tables so its definately best to book in advance. Two tables are outside near the entrance, the right hand one as you walk in is best and will seat up to six (at a push). Specify that one if you would rather be outside....indoors is quite cosy!
Its local, its lovely, its very very clean and its busy!!
They open about 7 and will stay until you are ready to leave (within reason)
