Does anyone know if a Blue Badge (Disabled Driver) issued in the UK is valid in Malta now they have joined the EC?
In the past we have visted Malta with friends who have a blue badge. The first time they visited (five or six years ago) we were told we would have to visit some office in Floriana (I think) which we did not bother doing because we were only there for a week and the only problem we had parking was in Valetta. When we are on our own we would park up in Sliema and get the ferry over to Valetta but there is no way our friend could tackle that hill, hence the need to take the car.
sorry don't know the answer, but isn't a disabled driver badge specific to a particular car ?
these are the people to ask -
The badge isnt specific to a certain car.My hubbys grandmother is Maltese but living in the UK and she uses her badge while in Malta and also in any car she is travelling in.
For more information on the validity of the Blue Badge permit and details of the conditions or restrictions applied by various countries,
It looks as though we are OK in Malta now but I am sure we will still manage to get a parking ticket. We usually do. The rule about proximity to a corner has caught us twice - you would think we would learn but we don't.
