I had a rewarding month in Bolivia last year where I went to learn some Spanish. I have never learnt another language before and found it a really rewarding experience. Within one month of classes and total immersion into a Spanish speaking town I had learnt more of a second language than I had ever learnt at school.
I will be going back to continue my studies as soon as I can.
May i therefore recommend travelling to learn a language or culture. For the less adventurous i would suggest it is possible to do this within ones own country and here in Britain one can find new and surprising cultural expression within an hours drive from home.
Im learning spanish, this sounds like a great idea to become immersed in the language.
