I came back from Sunny Beach about two weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I read the reviews before going about Bourgas Airport and that it was basically Hell that you only just escape from!

Obviously the airport doesn't come close to Gatwick or Heathrow but our experience was generally okay.

No flight delays either way (We went with Firstchoice).

When we landed (just after midnight) there was 3 massive queues to get through passpost control. It took about 45minutes to get through, which is all standing!, and we still don't know what took them so long. However, when we got through you enter the baggage reclaim area straight away. We only had to wait 30minutes to get all our bags and the buggy (we were told the buggies would come out first but they came out last so lots of tired toddlers around!) The coach was right outside so all in all only 1 hour 15 minutes till we were on the road. Not that bad really.

Coming home was okay also. Only took 10 minutes wait to check in and another 10 minutes to get through passport control. There are no computer screens showing departure details, but there are only 6 gates and it is announced over a speaker as soon as your plane is ready. facilities are a bit slim, small duty free shop with alcohol and cigarretts and you can get a drink but thats it. There is a terraced area on the airport roof so you can watch you plane come in (much to my 2 year olds joy!). Plus there is a childrens play area.

Our bags were all fine and no signs of any tampering.
