I hope people like this don't turn the Turkish resorts into another Benidorm. Read this......

heard nothing of any trouble so quite surprised by this
i've been 3 times now and i really don't think this behaviour is the norm
How can I put this.... marmaris has been attracting a different "type" of tourist recently.I have noticed rowdiness and bad language.I hope that marmaris doesnt become the new benidorm but i fear it will. holidays here are so cheap anyone can affrod them.....
Ditto Chelsea boys remarks
Weren't there a few comments of chav-like behaviour made here last season from members who had been to the Pegasus Palace and Pegasus Tropical as well? Something to do with the cheapness of the holiday in its first year I seem to remember.
Must say I dont like Marmaris anymore and tend not to leave Icmeler to go over there. Have noticed the decline in it over the last 5-6 years and think that it will end up like Benidorm.
I tend to agree, Marmaris was really nice when we first visited and thats only about 10 years ago, we had a great time, much more laid back, you could walk along the beach at night without being shuved and pushed, we went for the evening last year and apart from the bazzar will not be going again, prefer to stay in Icmeler, plenty going on without being to in your face. Marmaris has already turned into Benadorm, without the highrise, what a shame.
Its Icmeler for me everytime becasuse of this reason. I know the cost of the holiday does make a difference in terms of clientel, but its no excuse. Just because its a cheap holiday doesn't excuse the behavior.
I agree, apartments we stayed in though in Icmeler, a large group arrived, took over the place, the kids "f-ing and blinding" in the pool, the adults were worse - so rowdy, spoilt our apartments to be honest. They were "too british".
I can't understand these statements about Turkish resorts turning into Benidorm, maybe it would be a good thing if they did.
You will probably find most of the people who make negative comments about Benidorm have never been there or last went there years ago.
(Must point out I haven't been there either, but wouldn't compare one place to another in this negative way).
I agree that over the last couple of years Marmaris does have some trouble in some of the bars etc. We went into one bar, which we go into every year, and normally we just pay for our drinks at the end of the night however this year we had to pay as we got our drinks when we asked one of the waiters he said it was due to groups of english people going in and drinking huge amounts and then leaving without paying. I hope the Turkish don't think that all English are like that.
Hate to say it, but have to agree with the sentiments above. Sitting people watching as the taxi-boats bring day trippers to Turunc from Marmaris, there are often some sights to see. Commonly overweight middle aged English women in tiny bikinis, who think its fine to walk down the main street with it 'all hanging out'! I know lots of members love Marmaris and there are obviously still lots of ordinary, respectable people who go there (so please don't take offence), its just the few that give the English a bad name, and spoil things. Any football hooligans who cause trouble in Marmaris, will probably regret it if they get caught, I'm sure they'll find they get much harsher treatment from the law in Turkey, than they do here!
