Our son is now living and working in Vancouver and is making rumblings about us visiting next year - we're thinking maybe in September.
So, I'd welcome suggestions about budget priced flights, etc. Is Zoom worth looking at? Never flown across the pond before, and long flights don't generally appeal to me, but just this once............!

I was just going to suggest you give Zoom a try! I've not flown with them personally, but I've heard plenty of good things about them. Their Boeing 767-300ER's are quite nice.

We flew with them on the Thomas Cook flights to Toronto May/June, and I really couldn't complain about anything.
Not sure where you're flying from but they fly from Manchester or Gatwick to Vancouver.
Wish we could book now - but as hubby is a one man shop/business, getting cover for 2-3 weeks is going to be a problem.

Globespan and Travel Pack who both use Air Transat
As suggested also look at Zoom and Candian Affair
Also have a look at As suggested also look at Zoom and Candian Affair
Booked our flights through Canadian Affair [thanks for the recommendation]
Went out on My Travel and returned with Air Transat -both flights left on
time with no problems except a 9 hour flight was rather boring - I can't
read for long as start getting dizzy. Luckily, I was able to pass the time
away chatting to lady next to me who had been to Vancouver before.
N.B. Manchester Airport could learn a thing or two from Vancouver Airport about handling passengers.
Regards, Ann
