On the Palma Bus website, there's information about fares (could only find it in Spanish but might also be there in English if you look). There's a resident's card which non-residents can apply for but also seems to be multiple journey tickets e.g. T20 trips/valid 30 days for 10 euros.
Thanks for the replies, at least I now know the tickets can be bought but still struggling to find out how far they go from Palma Nova and where I can get them.

these buses all go pass p/n or via magulf.depends where you want to go really.now its hard to tell you where to get the bus.as some you get on one road and others on a nother.but to get to plama city.get on the road prom where mcdonalds is.from there you can get other buses to parts of the island.if fact you can walk it in less than an hour.
if you walk round resorts look at bus stop for numbers.then you will know which stop to get a bus from.but really the only two buses you need are the palma bus and if you fancy a day in santa ponsa

Thanks, I will have a good look around when I am there. So used to hiring a car but in the last year as the prices have rocketed I have been using public transport an enjoying the chance to look around and not worry about having a drink.
