Just to add some ideas:

1) Would they like to see more indian restaurants serving food from various other states like Rajasthani Thalis, South Indian Breakfast, Gujarati Thalis, Bengali Delicacies.

2) Or more English food.. Kebab joints...

3) Pub food....

Looking for a business idea?

What Goa certainly does not need is any more places that sell British food or English bars like the Red Lion. Shouldn't be allowed, if you want a Red Lion go to Benidorm!!

What I was looking at was wanting to start something in Goa not just for money (although important) but also to do something to keep busy a few hours during the week. I work in UK now and have my properties in Hyderabad (south india) which is about 22 hours by train from Goa via Hubli. I can see myself living in Goa for extended periods when it gets cold here in UK.

I can understand that regular visitors to Goa do not want to see any major changes there (certainly no Kabab joints) and I myself would like Goa to remain the same.

Business ideas would be welcome...

What can I say about business in Goa. There is plenty to do. What you must not get into is restaurants and hotels. Thats what everyone is into and there are too many people doing the same business. Come up with an idea that would appeal to a 2 week tourist coming to Goa.... a golf course maybe !!

a/c units on the beach- that would be popular!

I've got one - but it's a secret..obviously :D

I agree with the food business part, it's not going to be very lucrative - also too much compitition :bhead .

Ontour1 - What is your secret ? :glynis

Fiona - maybe an air-conditioned mini cinema hall with about 50/75 seats showing latest hollywood / Bollywood flicks, drinks and meals served :D .

that's already happening Aj a lot of the shacks along the Baga end of the beach show latest Hollywood/Bollywood movies at 8 p.m. So you have the lovely breeze, food , drink and free movie on a big screen. Their customers bring them in pirate copies - apparently mostly from Turkey???
They seem to be very well supplied. You will have to think again. Sorry if this is bad news

I actually saw a driving instructor teaching a young man, i couldnt believe my eyes. it was on the candolim road. Needless to say he had to keep stopping and starting because of a crazy dog running out in front of him.

I wonder if the car had duel controls? :rofl

How's about, A bus, car, motorbike, HORN reconditioner, as they must wear out at a hell of a rate!!! Second thoughts, please don't bother Ha!
Or you could sell T shirts with " No Thank you I don't want a taxi today!" In multi languages. Or! "Save the River Princess" T shirts. Anyone else got any suggestions?

All Driving schools in India have cars with dual controls. However, I learnt it by taking my brothers car to a football ground and going round and round and round till I got the gears right and then finally got onto the road after a couple of days of going round and round :D .

I had to go to an agent to get my Light motor vehicle licence that allows me to drive a motor cycle of whatever capacity and any kind of car (not a truck or a bus :bhead )

How about COME PAINT YOUR OWN T SHIRT SHOP - A workshop where people bring their own blank T shirt, hand paint it in the workshop (all paint material provided) and put your own price tag. If it sells at the price indicated, a percentage of that goes to the one running the business, its a win win situation for both the painter and the shop owner.
