about 4 years ago we bought a diamond ring for £500, had it valued at home £1650. but the ring got lost, i cried and cried. insurance wanted to give me vouchers to replace it at shops here , but i wouldnt. Got the cash and waited till we next went to turkey. i replaced it but still prefer the first one, i also got a wedding ring and eternity ring made and got diamond earings ..
We have not been since but we are going in 3 weeks , cant wait to see what i get this time
Just came back with a diamond ring from Icmeler, and one of the stones
fell out within days. I'm sure its a one off, but i want to send it back. Has
any one treid to return jewellery to Turkey??
wendy if you have the email address of the shop contact them, but i would probably wait until you know someone thats going out there as sending in the post isnt very reliable in turkey, my mother lives there and only receives half her mail, or what about claiming off your insurance
I love anything to do with the jewellery threads .....have any of you ever looked on the jewellery thread on the goa forum .....I have got about 10 rings made in goa ....the best one was we paid just about £400 and it was valued at 3 grand in march this year I got an emerald ring for £300 and it was valued at £1300........ I know its not about jewellery in Icemeler but I know all us ladies love our diamonds ..............colleen
hope you get your rind done and soon!
Friends we went with last year bought an emerald and baguette diamond ring for £1,800,a week after arriving home one of the diamonds fell out.She took it back to the shop this year and they were so apologetic, offered her her money back or repair, she chose repair, anyway same thing happened a couple of days after she came home again,so now she is taking it back again when we go next year, lets hope they will give her money back!!.This was a jewellers in Marmaris.
problem, but i love the ring. They are going to see if they can get another
one but in my ring size, as the other one was re-sized for me, and the jeweller
in the uk said this is where the fault lies.

Your £50 would be better off going towards buying your wife a diamond ,these things only tell you if it is a diamond or not ,they will not tell you how good the diamond is ,or how good the cut is, that takes an experienced eye .If you want to just find out if it is a diamond or not ,then try cutting glass with it .
A couple of months ago, one of the diamonds came loose (and was lost!!!!), so we had it repaired in the UK, where it was indeed valued at around the £1000 mark.
I suppose if you buy something over there, you could always visit a couple of other local jewellers with your new item and ask for a valuation. At least this way, you'd have an idea if there was anything fishy, while still over there?
