Hello, thinking about going to Menorca and have seen a couple of hotels which look good, one in Cala'n Bosch and one in Son Bou.
Won't have access to a car but would like to get out and about a bit so Cala'n Bosch looks to be better connected by buses. But Son Bou seems to have the better beach.
Has anyone been to both resorts? What are the beaches like at Cala'n Bosch? Do they get easily crowded? We'd be going end of Sept/beginning of Oct.
Is Son Bou a bit cut off from every where else? It seems there are only 6 buses out of Son Bou each day compared to about 20 out of Cala'n Bosch.
Any info would be useful. Thanks.
Give me Son Bou every time. Cala'n Bosch is much more commercialised and bigger. Yes there is more to do but the beach at Son Bou is fantastic. If you want plenty going on them Cala'n Bosch is the choice, otherwise Son Bou is the place.
Son Bou is fine if you are happy to spent every day on the beach and every evening at your hotel.Calan Bosch for me offers more to do in evenings (without being rowdy) and also easier access to Ciutadella by bus.
We've been to Son Bou 5 times now and love it . Very much a family resort but there is enough outside the hotels. Bearing in mind we stayed in private villas we never got bored.
There is one Disco/nightclub(ish) , at least 6-7 lively bars that do karaoke/cabaret on selected nights and a few quieter bars.
The food is typical tourist fare, OK but nothing spectacular. There is one restaurant almost next to the Hawaiian bar on the 1st floor of the com centre that is particularly good.
Beach is absolutely superb...nice beach bars/food....great place, especially if you have kids.
