All the resorts in the north are pretty close so if your staying in calangute, while not being a lively place itself, it is not far from what you want. Baga has Titos (pretty poor) and Mambos (better) which are mainstream club places and there is also On the rocks, quite a smart club just along from these two. Then there is also Club Cubana up in the hills at Arpora, nice club with a pool and as much as you can drink for about a tenner. For something more Goa trance, head to Paradiso in anjuna and before that Nine Bar at Vagator (although mixed reports recently) There are on occasions parties that happen round about the vagator and Chapora area, taxi drivers tend to know when these will be on, if at all.
There are a couple of clubs which open at 3ish and stay open till sunrise, and I'm struggling to remember their names right now, but it will come back to me and I'll post it.
Wednesday after the anjuna market, there are a couple of bars on the beach which are quite lively, the Shore Bar used to be the place to go, but last couple of years I've been its been quite quiet, although this was at end of season.
