Has anyone stayed here? Ive heard good and bad things about this hotel but have booked it In July? Luckly, I managed to get room only as I dont like the sound of the resturant!

Hi Mulder ...should that be California Gardens ?
I stayed there with my family (4 of us) in July 2002. It's very central-which was great. We only got a 1 bedroom apartment as part of a late deal and I can tell you-it was almost as if we were all in the same bed together it was so squashed! It's extremely basic but very handy and good value for money. We went self catering but did eat in the restaurant once-and we were quite relieved we didn't pay for all inclusive or half board-the restaurant isn't nice! You won't be stuck for places to eat out though-there's plenty around. Some days the pool was a bit dirty but the apartment was spotless on arrival. To be honest, I wouldn't worry since you're going S.C. Salou is full of nice restaurants, pubs etc., so I doubt you'll be spending much time in the apartment seen as there is loads to do. We certainly spent no time in the apartment! Hope this helps!
Happy Holidays!
we stayed in the hotel and the food was awful. The location was great for the park, beach and shops tho.
hi all has any one stayed in the california garden hotel this year and if so how did you find it .any help would be appreciated thanks.
Its also located in a good place too.
thanks Loulou i had seen hotel report but that was for last year ,glad your sister had a good stay there this year thanks for reply.
Hi...we are stopping at this hotel too... does anyone know if the men have to wear long trousers when going for meals ... thanks in advance
We are stopping here too, its a dirt cheap hotel!
I stayed in California garden hotel in 2005 and yes men have to wear long trousers (I wore 3/4 lengths) and this seemed ok.
I really found the hotel was really nice, the rooms are basic but nice and the locations to all the shops are just across the road and down 1 street.
The beach is about a 5 mins walk.
If you want to walk to port adventura then it will take you about 15 mins.
The hotel food is very nice and changes every day, put before that if you are going half board then in your evening meal (Tea) the drinks aren't free. (Don't want you to find out the hard way).
If you want to know anymore, just drop me an email and post again. I have stayed in 3 times in salou (3 different hotels) and know all your good bars, events and places to go.
one is pool side, the other is of the front of the building.
because i am a new user, i cant post pictures yet. please email me if you want them.

hope you have a good time get away from the wind&rain we left salou 30deg's arrived liverpool wind & rain wish i was back there.
I'm also goin to california gardens in July .
Hi... just got back from this hotel... and would not go back... location and rooms were good but the food was terrible... the staff in restaurant were the most miserable people i have ever met... never saw one of them smile in 2 weeks... the food was bland... nothing had a taste.. we ate out a few nights and did not even bother with the breakfast... salou is lovely, but we were in benidorm last year and the entertainment was brilliant... not much entertainment in salou on a night... first time there but will be back to benidorm next year...
i have just got back from benidorm and i found that salou is a fast better place, both entertainment, the beauty etc...
the entertainment is totally different, it depends on the person
if you we fun/ family/ relaxed entertainment. then go to salou.
If you want - dirty comedians, drag queens, strip shows etc... then go to benidorm.
the hotel in benidorm was the best thing about it and thats only because it was full of brits. i have stayed in far better hotel in salou including California Gardens.
