I think its fair to say Calis is a quietish resort, I've been in May, June and October and this year will be going in August, so will experience peak season for the first time. Its always been fairly quiet when I've been there, most people head for the sea front where most of the bars and restaurants are located.

I think its a good location to travel to other places, you can get the dolmus into Fethiye and where you get off the bus is the connecting buses to Olu Deniz, Hisaronu etc. Fethiye is also nice for a night out, you can get the water taxi from Calis to Fethiye harbour. Fethiye also has shops, both tourist and clothes, homeware etc.

I go with my DH, DS10 and DD8. There is a small waterpark in Calis and I think there is also a bigger one is Hisaronu.

I've never been to Turgutreis, so cant compare the two. Hope this helps a bit.

If this helps - I have been to both Fethyie & Tugetries. Both resorts are not that big and easily walkable around. Turgetries is the larger of the two

Hi
Can't comment on Calis as only driven through it
Turgutreis is small with the main bar area close to the Marina with plenty of bars, restaurants and spending opportunities ! There are a few reasonably sized supermarkets and excellent Dolmus links if you want to explore further afield -Gummusluk is lovely. There is a waterpark on the outskirts of Bodrum
