We are considering going back to Bitez in June 2008. We last visited about 4 years ago. Generally, we prefer DIY, and having searched various sites, we have drawn up a short list of accomodation.
Our No. 1 preference at the moment is a small private villa, called The Citrus Villa. Unfortunately none of the e-mail links we have found seem to work. Does anyone out there have an e-mail address, or any other contact details?

I had seen that link from their website, but for some reason it would not work as a link from there. Have now manually typed it in to an e-mail, and it seems to work. Should have tried it that way in the first place I suppose.

Sorry - can't help, but Marn beat me to it anyway. Don't know the property. Whereabouts is it? Could it be on one of the new developments near the beach?
It looks more like an older property Pat. Maybe nearer Bitez Village?

You could be right, Marn. It looks like one of the houses that you pass if you walk along the Chapel Pathway from the beach to the village. Looks pretty good to me, anyway.

What a disappointment!
No reply to my e-mail so I gave them a ring today on a number I had found, only to be told that the property was no longer available to rent.
Never mind, I will just have to work through the remainder of our shortlist.

How many of you are going? The hotels on the sea front are all pretty good, but it just depends on what you are looking for - sea front or rural.
We are going to visit Bitez in 2 weeks time - a day visit from Gumbet - so if there is anything you would like looking into, just ask.

We are a party of 4 adults, all in our 40's but young at heart. We are annual visitors to Turkey and have done most of the usual - and some unusual - resorts in the past. Our last visit to Bitez was about 8 years ago!
Problem is we are 1 couple and 2 singles (male and female), therefore we tend to find that most hotels are too expensive with single supplements etc, as we really need 3 rooms.
We therefore tend to find that renting a villa is cheaper than booking with the usual Tour Operators. We have however, used a number of smaller hotels in the past, as they tend to be a bit more flexible in their scale of charges.
If you have any ideas/suggestions we will consider most things. We have definitely decided that we are going to Bitez in 2008.

Sorry about the villa - have you tried booking hotel only as they charge per room and this is usually a lot less than tour operators charge per person. Hope you find what you are looking for. I won't be there until September but let me know if I can help in any way.

We have seen a small hotel near the beach - Hakan Otel - has anyone stayed there?, or does anyone know anything about this hotel? We are also looking at Yali Han, Kassandra, Small World and Sah Hotel.
Any comments, opinions, or advice would be most welcome.
We leave for Side on Friday for our 'Two Week Annual Turkey Fix'. Wishing everyone a great 2007 holiday.

Hi Briar, We knew about the new bathrooms and furniture, but not about the pvc doors & windows. It will be a big improvement, a pity they can't put on proper balconies. Have they done these improvements to the Moby Dick as well?
There was no dount about your son enjoying his holiday at the Manuela, one can't fail to. Did they get to see baby Enes? He'll be a year old when we go next May. We've got the flights booked already. Just have to e-mail them about a nice ground floor room for us.

luddenturk ... we stayed at Small World last year. It is a small, comfortable hotel, quiet and friendly when we were there. The rooms are basic, but clean and the beds were comfortable (slept every night! ).
The only reason we are not going back is because we got a great deal at Kassandra for a month H/B. Have a good time in Side.

It would be nice to have a meet-up in Bitez, but as you say Marn we never seem to be there all together.
This year's hat(s) are quite boring really - a black floppy thing and a straw one with a big flower on the front. There is still time though to find something a bit more 'me'. If not, I could always try to borrow Del's - the one with 'goer' on the front!
