I took mine last month gone in my hand luggage, along with the digital camera, no questions asked, no hassle, didn't have to declare anything.

I'm just home and had both a camcorder and camera with me. I wasnt aware of any issues and even used it in monastir to video within the former presidents place of rest!
We took ours without any problems
