Hi,
We are going to Hammermet on Honeymoon in April and, as we are both keen photographers, we are hoping to take our cameras. I am a bit concerned though about taking an SLR (large) camera as I am worried about safety, especially in the markets. Maybe a smaller camera? Anyone had experience of this or can offer advise
we have taken lost of cameras and expensive equipment and never had a problem, just look after it, and dont leave them lying around
Always lock them away in your room safe too......the maids can perform wonderful vanishing acts with your possessions
It's also worth remembering to be careful of what you photograph. It's forbidden to photograph anywhere official. As a tourist you're unlikely to get in too much trouble if you make a mistake, though you will almost certainly have the film confiscated (if using film) and possibly the camera too. Not what you want, especially if you have expensive equipment! One place to be careful of is if you visit Carthage and the Antonine baths - the president's home is next door, so watch out where you point the camera!
A.
