There are things to do which may suit your tastes, ie a train ride which takes you on various trips for 2,3 or 4ish hours depending on which trip. See http://www.trenturisticoibiza.com/info.html for details. Be warned though if you want to go on one of those trips, arrive more than half an hour early.
http://www.solmelia.com but i think panorama and thomas cook do it.taxi into santa eulalia 5euros,it was easy to walk into escana 15 mins on the flat.another recommendation would be the escane appartments in es cana all sea view rooms its spotless.check the reviews, self catering but cheap to eat out in es cana.another thought is the hotel cala nova supposed to be excellent(we are going in october).santa eulalia is more cultured,a very baby friendly hotel is the hotel club siesta 10 mins up from the sea but you can get seaview rooms, its a firstchoice family hotel and they even have a creche, all nneb trained nannys, good entertainment, yet you are walking distance to all the amenities santa eulalia has to offer.we have been to all the properties except cala nova, please feel free to ask any questions

hi,i could recommend the sol s'argamassa hotel, its in a quiet area, and has an international clientel.we specifically booked a sea view room for a few pounds extra and the view was spectacular.the rooms were very smart with fridge etc,no kettle, but in spain not many hotel rooms provide this.the food was very good, evening meal was always an occasion.we booked it direct on ![:)](/storage/forum/smilies/vsmile.gif)

Thankyou both for your suggestions, i will check them out.I suppose if we went half board i could take a travel kettle for bottles.can you recommend a bottled water that is low in sodium for babies ?You say mobeckwith, that you are going in october, have you been in october before?if so, what is the weather likely to be like middle of the month, we are now thinking about going on the 14th
hi jackie,we havent been in october before, usually mayjune, i beleive that the weather can be mixed at this time of year,we had origionally booked for august, but had to change our plans because my dad is coming with us and he is 86,so october weather will suit him better.not sure about the bottled water, what about some ready made stuff(cartons) i know this isnt cheap, but less hassle.the chemists in santa eulalia are the same as u.k.most things available.as for the weather mt freind went to majorca last year mid oct and the weather was lovely,we went to costa dorada 17 0ct last year and only had 1 morning of rain,i got a good tan.it will be nicer than at home anyway
Cheers for advice about bottles, we will probably take cartons with us, but buy jars of babyfood over their.
We still have not booked any thing yet. Its quite difficult trying to find accommodation to suit us all , as we need something suitable for our 15 yo daugter. My main priority is a sea view, so we can hopefully spend many happy hours with a bottle of vino looking out at the view whilst liitle one sleeps and daughter makes friends to hang out with

I am going to check out santa elulia, which tour firm did you go with?
hi jackie, i know what you mean about a seaview, its top of my priority list also.i also have a 15 year old and its a funny age, my lad isnt big into socializing he is happy to come out for meals or chill by the pool.we usually book first choice/eclipse direct which is cheaper, but this year have booked seperate flights and booked with hotels direct.ive had another idea, the tres torres hotel in santa eulalia is very nice 4 star thompsons, the higher floors have a fantastic sea/harbour view, lots of good quality restaurants in santa eulalia, also the sol ibiza hotel is smart with the my travel group, the fiesta don carlos is supposed to be excellent also, might have a bit more going on for your 15 year old.the trouble is the hotels that cater for teenagers can sometimes be a bit rowdy(i.e looking at the recent reviews of the tanit hotel)so i agree it can be hard to choose the perfect place.as someones angel suggested, the miami hotel in escana is beach front and would cater for all the family, and santa eulalia is 5 mins on the bus,i still think that the escane appartments take a lot of beating for cleanlyness, sea view etc.we spent many happy hours on the balcony there, and downstairs at the back of the restaurant is a games room,/arcade etc.good luck with choosing mo
Could you tell me which tour operator the 'escane apartments'are with please. Thanks again for all your suggestions. I think we are are going to plump for sc as their will be more kitchen facilities and also we can be more flexable with lo, as we dont really want to drag him down for meals when he is sleeping (and i can hopefully get some chill out time!

What date are you going in oct? and who did you book flights with? were they reasonable. We did diy to majorca last year and it worked out alot cheaper(and the added bonus is we didnt have to be subjected to a reps meeting)

http://www.reception@escanyer.com the receptionist is called justine an english lady who is very helpful,oh i forgot to mention, you can book a handfull of apartments direct.we are going on the 22 october with direct holidays flights, they wernt particularly cheap, but we had origionally booked to go to ibiza for 2 weeks in august, but when my dad decided to come with us we changed the holiday booking to flights, and have booked the hotel direct.we have just been for a short break to ibiza with jet 2,but they dont fly after mid september to ibiza which is a shame.

hi jackie, the es cane appartments are exclusive to the first choice company in the u.k. this includes eclipse direct which are usually cheaper, the appartments have won the gold award for 7 years so they must be doing something right, the email adress is ![:)](/storage/forum/smilies/vsmile.gif)

We have finally decided on..... Gran Canaria in December. As I am retutrning to work in sept after my maternity leave, I have found that all of october is booked for a/l. So a friend of ours who owns a timeshare has got us a week for £150(a bargain)
However we will be holidaying again in june(after daughters GCSE,s)and will probably book for Ibiza.
Thanks again for all your recommendations, I will certainly be looking them all up after crimbo!!
Hope you have a fab holiday in oct
