Hi Greenshoes, I'm with your dad on this one!! Although PEK isn't really my area, so I can't recommend any of the hotels personally, the following map may help to pinpoint where you might like to stay. I'm sure you will get plenty of recommendations on here. http://www.holidaymaps.de/afrika/tunesien/port%20el%20kantaoui.html

Hello Greenshoes,
Just got back on Sunday after 2 weeks at the Maharba Palace, and although it is not peak season ,there was something on every night. In the main lounge some nights it was kareoke with a game of bingo,or a duo on an organ and drums would be playing. In the American bar ,a guitarist was on every other night, and there was also tvs in there,or there was th e cafe bar, which still served beer and spirits. On Thursday nights they had folk and belly dancing one week, and an act with swords and beds of nails on the other.I admit it was nothing to write home about, but just over the road from the hotel, was the irish bar,or if that did not suit,it is only a few minutes walk to the port,so i think that in the main season there will be quite a bit of entertainment close to hand.

Thanks. Just reading up on some more now. We had thought of the Abou Sofiane but I think thats too far for hime still. The man gets cabin fever if he isn't smack bang in the resort!

Hi Greenshoes, I have stopped at the Abou Sofiane the corridoors are very long, god help you if you get one right at the end of 3 long corridoors, if you go ask for a room near the left. pool is a bit small for the size of the hotel but staff are very nice and helpful. you will need a taxi to get any where nothing near the hotel. very nice and clean hotel.
