birdies has a great kareoke most nights.watsits is a must with samir and his crazy bingo and they do a great brekfast.caracus opposite the clumber mar has a turn on most nights but the drink measures are a little scimpy.you can get the land train to scandles down near the harbour and san balou they have a happy hour 8-10pm and they do great meals and snacks at very resonable prices.
its easy to jump on the local bus and go to alcudia or p.p. and they run every 20mins or so.
the beach is clean and safe for the kids with a life guard during the peak season.
overall can pic is a pretty quiet resort with something for everyone.
I can recommend Anne and Neils place (opposite the Sunburnt Arms and London Pub), Neil is a lovely man who has time for a chinwag with all the customers and is very good with kids, my wife says that they do the best tea and scone in Majorca. I believe the food is lovely there ( we were HB so only had a snack for lunch), everyone who we spoke to who ate there said it was very good, especially the Sunday lunch.
Sunburnt Arms and Birdies bar good for kids because of the Xbox, although mine are a little young just yet. Bar number one is a good pub to watch football in, although for prem football involving big teams, in the past I have gone in german bars as they are quiter! also when I was there the average price of a pint was 2.50-2.80 in 'British pubs' but many of the German ones were 2 euro, ideal for sitting and watching people go by.
We had no problem at any bars with the children, they were made very welcome in them all.
As previously posted the land train to Son Baulo is a must for the little ones, and the way back as well, There is a market down there on a friday, only small but has everything you need
Read the hotel reviews and pick yourself a nice hotel, but be aware that quite a few in C'an Picafort are predominately German with food and entertainment to match. Haiti, Clumba Mar and Son Baulo hotel are exclusivly british, as are some others
Have a nice holiday, hope this site can be of use to you
http://www.majorca-mallorca.co.uk/can_picafort.htm and the Thomson website also had resort and hotel pics and videos

once again thank you for you replies.
please keep them coming!!
4straf - that sounds excellent, which company did you book with?? I'd like some of that at that price.
PS if you have 2 kids the price shoots up due to ridiculous room supplements but is still good value compared to other hotels of a similer or lower standard

Looking at the Floriana in Cala Bona as I've seen a really good deal, stayed at the Bonaire (Protur hotel) in April and was very very impressed, like the look of the other Protur hotels and enjoyed the area of cala bona/cala millor.
