Hello im due to go to Goa next week and a couple of weeks ago i was in a taxi coming back from a night out and got talking to the taxi driver about how cheap ciggarettes are in Goa, and he said they are so cheap because they are horrible and fake. Im just wondering are they fake in the duty free at the airport in Goa and what about the main shops in calangute/baga area?
Thanks
Cigs at the duty free in the airport are fine.
Yes you can get cheap fake cigarettes out there however if you ask for proper ones at a shop you will get them.
Dont buy them from the markets and dont pay less than about 700 rupees as they will more than likely be fake.

Peter
Thanks for that, i read somewhere that you can get 1000 for less than £20. I presume that these are the 'fake' ones?
hi yummymummy if you go to the elephantshop in candolim they deffo sell the good ones ......re the price i dont know im a non smoker......JOHNDOE........ I stand corrected haha
Try the brand WYN they are genuine and similar to Lambet & Butler - they cost approx 220/250rps = £3.00ish for 200, best value in Goa.
That is very cheap lockieman. I smoke lambet and butler so i will be giving them a try. Thanks for the tip
I smoke lamberts and from what the locals have told me you dont get fake L&B's as they all come from the duty free shop at the airport and are stamped as such.
Regards
Peter
L & B are 750 for 200, genuine ones, in the supermarket opposite the football pitch in calangute,
The elephant shop in Candolim sells "good cigs" for 90rps for a 20 pack. Our rep advised us to look for a bar code on the side of the packet - they are the good ones.
Thanks for that
