hi all, we are going to gc on the 2nd june and we are self catering, does anyone know if there are any restrictions on taking food over, as we want to get noodles and stuff cheap here which will save us buying (and money) when we get there.
thanks to all
Everytime i come back from the UK i have a fairly well stocked bag of goodies (crumpets, bacon etc mmm ) and havent had any problems, main things that are a bit steep over here are UK cheese, bacon, British bread and some cereals. The rest isnt to bad. Use the Spar and Hiperdinos as they are reasonably priced, Netto is rather pricey. get cheese and meat over the counter and you will save alot. I guess its finding a balance between saving money and the weight of your suitcase.
Hi the times we have been abroad we have taken those mini cereals for the kids, snacksize aero bars, biscuits etc and have never had any problems, but not too sure on noodles etc.
We packed them in our case on our holiday to Lanzarote, so maybe you could try that when you go to gc.
I know what you mean by saving buying things over there as the euro being the way it is
We are off to GC in september and are having to save that little bit extra with the way things are at the moment
Have a good holiday!
hi neilthebeaver and shazajo thanks for the info i think i will put it all in my case and just hope for the best, i dont see why i cant take food with me, i will deffinatly try those supermarkets for the cheese and stuff. thanks again
