Enjoyed our February boating so much we've just purchased a share in the boat :)
Looking at our first experience with just the two of us in May on the Oxford canal (more room for the liquid rations).

I did the oxford canal in 1983-so hope not too much has changed. It was lovely-weather was scorching.
We set off from Rugby and got as far as Banbury before having to turn round to go back.

Even though there was a bath on board it took ages to fill-so we all went round pretty grubby.

I think top speed was something like 4mph. There wasn't much water in the canal then so we kept running aground.

I loved it and would love the chance to do it again

For short holiday breaks try Black Prince narrowboats; a good choice of bases and reliable boats. This year will see our 5th year with them.

Hi I have been looking for some breaks in England and ordered some brochures from Hoseasons, has anyone done any barge/boat hire hols?
They look very nice and dogs are allowed.
Thanks Liz.
