I think it could be Omodos. There is a museum there about the EOKA struggle which has lots of personal effects in it. This is situated by the Church or Monastery of the Holy Cross. Down one of the side streets is Socrates house which is a museum of Cypriot life owned by an elderly couple who have lots of old things and furniture belonging to their family.

Thanks Carol, Yes you are correct, it is Omodos, as soon as i read your reply the name rang a bell, My Lad is hoping to go to cyprus this year and as was young he can just about remember socrates house and the little museum and would like to go back,(lucky boy)
