Perhaps on an Island tour from your hotel, but I don't think that you would able to pull all those places in in one day. of course you could by car.

thanks David. In that case I may hire a car for the day and do my own Island tour.

Typical only have time for a 7 day holiday (starting a new job), yet I find a load of things I want to do, along with a few days of doing nothing, I don't think we'll have enough time for both!

Hi
We are just back from Mallorca and did that very trip.
We stayed at Alcudia and drove to Cap de Formentor. It took about 2hrs as it was very busy at the lighthouse and a very small car park.
We also drove from Alcudia through the mountains to Soller (stopping at the Mirador de se Barques for lunch), took the train to Puerto de Soller and back, drove to Valdemossa, then drove back to Alcudia up the motorway via Palma, that trip took all day.

I think it might be a bit much to do both on the same day.

We split both trips over 2 days as there is a lot of driving.

Thanks Willie.

2hrs from Alcudia, blimey! I take it the road out to the headland is a bit slow then. Maybe not a journey to take a restless 5 year old on then!

About 30 mins from alcudia through pollensa ( not 2 hours i would think)

From Palma you could get the bus to Puerto Pollensa (go to the main bus terminus up from the Plaza Espania, costs about 9 Euros return) then the boat to Formentor and back (costs around 8 Euros return).
1 hour on the bus, 45 mins by boat. First boat leaves at around 10am, next is at around 11am. Alternative is return to Puerto Pollensa from Formentor by bus, spectacular sea views as you come down the cliff road (costs 1 Euro). Go early to Formentor as the beach is very small and gets very busy, especially at weekends. I recommend at latest the 11am boat, preferably the 10am.

The whole trip to Cap de Formentor took us 2 hours, not the drive to it.
We stopped at the first view point for a while and then drove to the lighthouse where the traffic was queued round the corner and down the hill waiting to get into the car park. We stopped there for a while too.
Our 3 year old enjoyed it.

On re-reading your post I realised you wanted to go right out to the cape, my advice assumed you going only to Playa Formentor. To go the whole way you will need to go by car. Alternatively, you can get a boat trip from Puerto Pollensa out to the cape but it circles around and comes back, or sometimes continues to Cala San Vicente. The drive out to the lighthouse at the cape is via a very narrow cliff road which can get busy and consequently a little exciting.

Hi, we drove to the lighthouse last year. Its worth it just for the views. We went early in the morning to avoid coaches coming the other way! The road is a narrow, mountain road quite hairaising at times so be careful.

Hope this helps

brilliant thanks, not sure my driving is up to being on the other side and also on a hair raising mountain road, but it might be worth a go!
