Hi Helen T. Thanks for that- I guess if your friends have gone for twelve years, that pretty much says it all! Four weeks to go and we can't wait! :)

As far as location is concerned it's fantastic - slap bang in the center of everything and of course there's the beautiful Fig Tree Bay Beach. oooooooooooooooooooo! Enjoy

Sorry if this is hijacking the thread but info required on Capo Bay. Wife is getting the cases packed already(another week to go?) and wants to know if a kettle is provided in the room. We have one just in case, but if not needed more room for my goodies on return.

Hi Stokieal. I've read a review on another site that there are tea/coffe making facilities in the room- so keep the space free for extra goodies on your return! Let us know how you get on when you get home- we go on July 23rd- can't wait! Have a great time!

Hi there
I have just got back from the capo bay and would definitely recommend it (we got married there!)
They do have kettles in the room and 1 days worth of coffee/tea etc but they will happily replenish it if you like.
We stayed in a family room with lovely views over the bay - the room itself was big enough for us and we had 2 children with us. The family room had a huge double bed and 2 pull out sofa chairs which did take up quite a bit of room but in reality how long do you spend in your room anyway!
As on other reviews the balcony was quite small with space for a table and 2 chairs, we sat out there quite a few nights and it was fine. We didn't want a huge balcony anyway as we had a 5 & 7 year old with us.
We had a lovely time there. Hope this helps!

Hi Joqil. Congratulations! It sounds like you've had a great time. Thanks for your info on Capo Bay- we've got a 6 and 9 year old so we were just concerned about the rooms, but you're right, you're not in there for long anyway. Three weeks til we go and counting! Congratulations once again!

Hi Silverka2002! We're flying from Manchester on the 23rd and counting down! How about you?

23rd as well but from Cardiff. I assumed you would be on the Cardiff flight because of the Welsh Flag on your avator.

We're staying at the Golden Star in Protaras.

Hi Silverka2002. We live in North Wales so we can either fly from Liverpool or Manchester, which is about an hour away.

hi chrisykins, i'm sure you will love the capo bay because it looks lovely and is in a perfect location. my kids used to love feeding the koi in the pond and if you sneak some bread to them (you're not supposed too  ) they will climb up the banks to take it from your hand. have a great time! :)

Oops I forgot about the people up North, bit of a trek down to Cardiff.

What time is your flight?

Hi Davetraceyuk- that sounds good. My kids have seen pictures of the pond so they'll be chuffed with that! Thanks! :D

Hi Silverka2002.
Everyone forgets about us up in the north! It makes us laugh when we watch the Welsh news 'cos nothing ever happens up here! Ha!
 We fly about 9ish in the morning. How about you?

Half 3 in the afternoon.

The family rooms are okay...ish, but dont expect a huge amount of room, there enough for a double bed at one end then single beds next to the patio doors. The beds are a little too close to one another, so you are restricted for night time antics with the kids being so close!!

All rooms have carpets in though so this makes them feel a little more luxurious. the sea view is a little obstructed too, the rooms with sea views are set back from one anothe and are located more towards the centre part of the hotel, when your standing on the balcony you have a brick wall to the side of you which juts out about fifteen feet so the view feel a little claustrophobic

I got married there too in 2003, overall a nice hotel :D

Thanks for that Lukey!
I think it sounds like we'll have to put up with the room and make the most of the pool and beach! After all, you're not in the room for long are you?
Thanks again!

Chrisykins, you have made a fantasic choice with the Capo Bay we got married there in 97 and have been going back every year to celebrate our anniversary and it gets better and better each year.
Unfortunatley this year we are ploughing the money into the house......seemed like a good idea at the time but we have already booked for next year and can't wait.Won't be putting money into the house again its straight on a holiday!...
Eventhough there is only 2 of us we always book a family room,so we have more room to spread out and because the room we have has 2 sinks very handy.......
I really can't praise the hotel enough it is in my opinion the best in protaras, every year we see the same people, the majority of the visitors are return ones, a lot of people go 2 times are year,if only!!!!.....
Enjoy! :glynis
