Hi Moppy,
Don't worry, the sea is very calm at the moment as you can see from this webcam

A selection of cruises on offer:

http://www.herayachtmalta.com/ (have a look at the "snorkelling adventure" video clip) :fish

They all offer the sailing boat/gullet trips. If you are visiting Comino then try to avoid the weekend, as it can get quite busy.

Not sure how long you would have in Gozo if you chose a Gozo trip. Why not take a separate day trip to Gozo? Plenty to see there.

You would have to enquie about the size of the Jeep Safari group being taken out that particular day, whether you would have to drive the jeep or if there is space in a jeep someone else is driving for you to be a passenger :shrug Both Captain Morgan & Alliance do the jeep safaris, alternatively you could take a guided sightseeing tour.

We went on a day trip on a catamaran "spirit of Malta" it used to depart Sliema at 10am daily (2001) ( Captain Morgan)
There was a free bar and lunch was served, fresh prawns fruit, beautiful.
It stopped twice and you could swim or snorkel.
Also a speed boat came along side and you could go to the Blue Lagoon much cheeper than other trips.
There was music playing and you lived like a millionaire for the day. If still going this trip is a must. :D

If you decide to go on a sailing trip, try Sealion or Dolphin Cruises. They are smaller boats, take about thirty or so passengers, take you right into and moor up in the Blue Lagoon and you can dive off the boat. Its a lot cheaper and there is no queueing. Its a full day trip and we've been on it so many times now. We buy our tickets from a lady who sits near an ice cream wagon down the hill in Bugibba. She's been there for years selling the tickets for the cruises.
I know lots of people choose the Cpt Morgan cruises too. Its worth shopping around when you get there.

Have fun.
