Bad Car Rental experience with National Atesa Menorca office
Car (Citroen Nemo) booked through Holiday Autos, looked OK in car park (very dark multistorey), apart from strong tobacco/smoke smell
Next day discovered it had historic damage - rear wiper snapped off and scratches around front badge - but the vehicle acceptance report was clean. Also cigarette burns to front seat, and ashtray was full - but no smokers in my party.
I have been charged £158 which I am attempting to recover
Tried to use ATESA web-site to complain but couldnt compile complaint form in appropriate format for acceptance
My view is that company culture is a bit thin, or is it just local staff dishonesty ?
It's unfortunate that you didn't check the car on pickup, I have had a similar experience in the past, If it is dark I now drive the car to a lit area in the carpark, check the car over and any issues go straight back which I have had done on at least two occasions.
