The Caravella is a great night out, it's a large ship moored in Panjim which has been turned into a casino.
Even if you are not a gambler it's a a great night out.
This year ot cost us 1500 rupees each (about £20), I know that sounds a lot but you get your money's worth. Once on board, all your drinks are free, spirits, mixers, beer, pop, tea, coffee, you name it they've got it. There is a lovely buffet style restaurant where you can eat as much as you like, curries, rice, salads, soup, desserts etc. Nibbles, nuts and crisps are put in front of you all night as well.
The ship sets sail and does a short cruise up the river with a running commentary pointing out places of interest. On the top deck you are entertained by a band and dancers while cruising. When the ship returns the band then do a stint in the casino.
I dont know what time it closes but we left at 3am and it was still going strong. We certainly got our money's worth as well as winning about £100 on the roulette tables!!
