I will be in Calangute in Feb 2008 and am thinking of going on a Casino Cruise on the Mandovi River from Panjim.
Has anybody done this before, if so could you tell me the cost of the trip, and what are the minimum stakes used at the tables.
Thanks
One for you Alan
we will be doing it again next march !!!!

I think the tables were 100Rps minimum. Great night out. Once you get on the boat all food and drink are free. Get off when you want as they've got a launch. Usually the last off

I went in March for my birthday - there was 5 of us and we had a great time! Highly recommend it, I will definitely be going on it again although I only spent a tenner, the bloke i was with lost 80 but another friend won 100.
first time i've heard of this.where do you book?sounds like a good night out.if you go do you have to gamble and can youchange money on the boat if needs be ? thanks
jane what are the tables? sorry i am a real novice, are they cards or roulette and do you use rupees or chips? have been to the casinos in bulgaria but was a bit of a coward and just watched!!
you cash your rupees for chips, i only played roulette
Last question, is there any minimum age for this, as my son will be with me and he is only 17?
There is roulette, blackjack, 3 card stud poker and 5 card stud poker as well as the usual slot machines.

Even though it says no ID is required, I've always been asked for it and you'll need it to change money. No shorts or open sandals were allowed last time I went.
Alan
yep, you have to look smart. I only take my flip flop things so had to wear my long dress and they didn't question me but probably couldn't see them!
Hya we took our 17 year old earlier this year to the Caravella and he was NOT allowed on board. Was told that only on the afternoon cruise were under 18s allowed.
Bluemoon, hope Ricky does well on Sat night...
They have 1 night when the minimum stakes were 50 rupes used to be a wed, if you need to change pounds into rupes you will need passport, and not a good rate, best to take rupees with you, no shorts, no sandals for men unless leather[ just what we were told on entry last time] and dont go with gooner fan he is a bad luck charm.
Lin, you only lost because you drank them out of Romanov and Honeybee
Is anyone else interested in going ? 13th - 15th probably not a good idea with it been Valentines, and best avoiding the weekends.
We could pick a day, and wear our HT wristbands, or Red Carnations ( or whatever for those, like me who don't have a wrist band)
Anyone Interested - Lisa
