thanks milliemiglia for answering my questions its been a big help
We went out of season so that may be why there was no kids club?
If it states there is one then I would think there is.
ok thanks millie
we are staying on a a/i basis but like to go out of a evening is the bars close by and do they have entertainment on for adults such as live acts, karaoke etc and entertainment for children mine are 16 & 12 things such as pool tables, arcades, trampolines, parks near to bars etc?
how much should i expect to pay for a pint of lager, malibu and orange, bacardi breezer and a coke?

CLICK HERE to see a map of Caleta.
If you venture further up the main street, past the Los Arcos centre to Castillo Centro, you have lots of great places - restarants and bars - including Fado Rock for a good meal and the Flower of Scotland for good karaoke, entertainment, and cheap drinks.
With teenagers I would recommend you go over to Piero's in the El Castillo "white centre" at least a couple of nights during your stay - the Aladdin Show (Thursdays) is the best night, try to catch the Hypnosis show too, and for the mums and dads you must see Brian Ransom's Guitar Heroes show. After the night's show they do karaoke until 3am. Out of the two weeks we were in Caleta we went to Piero's 11 or 12 nights, and then on to the Flower of Scotland later on Everywhere is within 5-10 minute's easy stroll from where you are staying.
We paid 2.50€ - 3.50€ for local vodka & coke and about 2€ - 3€ for a beer (depending on the bar and the brand). You can also work the happy hours and BOGOFs around the bars. We filled our table with 4€ jugs of sangria during Piero's happy hour and made them last a couple more hours, then went off to the Flower of Scotland and got BOGOF shots in there later on.
lots of good info can you tell me what time the shows start approx in pieros
Piero's shows usually start about 9pm - 9:30pm. When we were there at Easter, some of the shows started a bit later because they had important football matches on the big screens and people wanted to watch them. The happy hour was 7:30-8:30pm and everything was half-price during happy hour - cocktails, beer, sangria, soft drinkstrasjohno wrote:can you tell me what time the shows start approx in pieros
Piero's don't sell food but they have a good relationship with The Beer Garden bar opposite so you can sit outside there, have a meal and still see the the show in Piero's (although you won't get a brilliant view if it is crowded). The Aladdin show on Thursdays gets very busy because the First Choice reps bring a load of guests from their hotels down. After the show each night, usually about 11pm, they have karaoke until 3am. (Count how many times in one week Matt will get everyone singing "My Way" backwards...)
As I said before, we usually stayed in Piero's until 12-12:30ish and then went over to the Flower of Scotland, mainly because their drinks were cheaper and also because everywhere was really quiet at Easter and the Flower was the only place with any sort of crowd in the small hours... good karaoke there too - often with with free shots if you sing!
Hopefully when you go in the summer it will be a lot busier than when we were there! I'm still trying to persuade daughter (16) to go back in August, but she's having none of it because her friend can't afford to come again I have to say, I absolutely fell in love with Caleta and we had a fantastic time, mainly because of the local Brits we met out there who work in the bars and hotels and made us feel so welcome and looked after us so well!
Any more Caleta questions, feel free to ask - happy to help!
is their much for teenagers in caleta i.e waterpark, funfair, arcades just when they fancy a change from the pool.

Tourventura in the El Castillo "white centre" do reasonably-priced excursions. We did the day trip to Corralejo - it's the same coach whether you're going in the waterpark or just fancy a mooch round the resort on market day - so I paid for the girls to go in the waterpark and I just spent a pleasant day in Corralejo round the shops; the girls had wristbands for the waterpark so they could come out and meet me for lunch and then go back in again.
We also did the day trip to Jandia/Morro Jable, but there wasn't much to see there that we hadn't already seen in Corralejo a couple of days earlier - and it was very "German" - they didn't find two daft Brit schoolgirls' silly stunts on the beach very entertaining... Lovely beaches in Jandia though...
In Caleta, there are a few arcades with internet cafes (although my daughter and her friend grumbled about the internet being incredibly slow...) There are areas on the beach for volleyball etc and you can always go on a submarine trip, jetski, diving or fishing from Caleta harbour. You can also feed the fish in the harbour with fish food from the "floating shop".
If you walk south along the beach to the "posh" Elba Carlota/Sara hotels you will come to the Atlantico Centre (or you can get a taxi for 2-3€). The Atlantico Centre has some nice shops, bowling, cinema, a Burger King and a McDonalds. (And a Spar supermarket which is cheaper than the Nettos in resort, but if you're AI, you won't need to worry about this).
There is a market in Caleta on a Saturday morning. It is on the main street (near Fado Rock etc). Just the usual "looky looky" rubbish - bags, belts, sunglasses, t-shirts etc but it's good for a laugh and there's a good atmosphere in the resort on market day.
When we were there, the girls hung around the beach every day and met a nice lad from another hotel. They spent a lovely 5-6 days with this lad, just "hanging out" and went bowling, shopping, McDonalds etc. There is a nice kids playground near the Barcelo hotel at the end of the Los Arcos centre and they hung around there a bit too. I felt that Caleta was a lovely safe place for two 16 year-old girls to wander around on their own during the day; and I had no worries taking them in the bars at night. Towards the end of the holiday they met some other boys their own age so I let them go out without me for a couple of hours as long as they were strictly (and soberly) back at the apartment or back to wherever I was, by a certain time
There is no waterpark or funfair, but you can always book a day out to the waterpark in Corralejo, or to the Oasis Park (zoo - animal shows, camel safari etc) in the south of the island. We also did the day trip to Jandia/Morro Jable, but there wasn't much to see there that we hadn't already seen in Corralejo a couple of days earlier - and it was very "German" - they didn't find two daft Brit schoolgirls' silly stunts on the beach very entertaining... We also went to the Mexican Corner across the road - look out for the lady giving discount vouchers. Mambo's was good - we had a set meal there, soup, main course and dessert for around 9€ each (not including drinks).
We also had a lovely meal in a Chinese, upstairs across the road from Mambo's - we got a discount from one of the PR guys outside and had a set banquet for three for about 8€ or 9€ each and BOGOF drinks - lovely generous portions - HUGE bowl of chicken & sweetcorn soup, crispy duck with pancakes and hoisin, bbq spare ribs and THEN a main course each! We were stuffed!!
We also tried the Chinese upstairs near Piero's, that was nice; and if you want another nice treat then I'd recommend La Bodeguita for a lovely Italian meal - it's the one all lit up in the El Castillo centre.
We also ate quite cheaply (8€ - 12€ each) in Mappy's, O'Connors and The Beer Garden (all near Piero's). Most places charge 2€ for a soft drink, not sure how much for desserts because we were always too full! Most places do child meals for about 5€-6€, the girls had these a few times because they eat like mice (but obviously they can drink like fish...)
You'll have a great time - I LOVE Caleta and would be back there as soon as I finish work for the summer this Friday if I could persuade daughter to come again!
next year it will just be me and hubby and daughter 13 the other daughter will be 18 in sept 2010 so i said i would let her go with her b/f i,m paying for her he's paying for himself.
really looking forward to caleta now so long as i don't catch swine flu.
by the way fado rock sounds great for hubby how much for a steak.
She won't go because her friend can't afford to come with us again, even though I've said not to worry about the money - I've seen cheap flights, I'd be booking a private apartment which costs the same however may people are in it, I've seen how much she eats and she wouldn't exactly bankrupt me, AND my son said he would come out and join us for a week and take the girls out in the small hours so they wouldn't have to put up with me moaning about being too tired... Apparently her friend is too proud to accept a free holiday and anyway they've got "things to do" during the summer - which looks suspiciously to me like staying in bed all day and going on Facebook/MSN all nighttrasjohno wrote:is she mad? why doesn't she want to go on holiday.
Anyway - get out there and enjoy it for me! Piero's have now updated their "proper" website HEREand they have a good map HERE showing where a lot of the hotels are. Fado Rock is just to the right of the Caleta Garden on the map There is also some good info about things you can do in the day HERE.
does anyone know what snacks are served throughout the day, as my daughters don't usually want to do to the dining room for lunch as this means leaving the pool and friends.
it is those little ice-cream tubs throughout the day all usual flavours ice lollys are avaiable but not on the all inclusive option.
fado rock was excellent value for money my husband and i ordered the steak for 2 persons they cook it on your table on coals you get a plate with salad rice and chips/potatoes each, it is melt in your mouth it cost 25 euros but the man outside on the street always gives you a voucher for 20%off. my son had the louisianna which was a huge kebab of chicken pieces and peppers/onions also cooked on coals he too had the plate with above on that was a bargain at 8 euros as my little girl shared it with him and they gave her chips and salad free.they are lovely friendly people we went every night for 4 nights then went all inclusive for the last 3 days.they also do a nice carbonara really cheap and you get loads they cook it in a pot and put a pitta bread topping on top i think it was only 4.50 euros.
have a great time i love fuerteventura its like going to my second home we go every year its such a calming and relaxing place to be.wish i was coming too the people are lovely. we got a bargain to salou in august so at least we are geting away again soon.
safe flight and enjoy
p.s if you get the offer for the tony romas meal deal night with the thomas cook reps then go for it, its as much as you can eat and drink for 2 hours it was worth it even though me and the kids nearly had to carry my hubby back to the hotel after 1 too many lol.
are all the bars and resturants at the san jorge included in the all inclusive or do you have to pay in some. if anyone knows can they let me know which is included and which is not.
the main entertainment bar were all the shows and nightly entertainment is in is ai and the pool bar and restaurant also.
i think the 1 you have mentioned is right at the end of the complex which we never went into.
does the hotel have lifts, and what part of the hotel do you think is the best to be allocated to.
did you enjoy the san jorge and would you visit again. i have read a couple of not so good reviews in the last couple of days not that this has put me off as i enjoy all my holidays.
yes it does have lifts. we were allocated the san jorge but when we got there it was like a ghost town nobody to be seen except the 3 families that were on our coach they use the reception in the antigua hotel. we were worried so i upgraded to the antigua and a seaview for 60 euros. but the next day we neednt have worried as there was alot more faces about the complex. a couple we met and their children stayed in the san jorge and they were fine but to be honest you are so close you dont even realise your in a different part. it was very quiet we went may 28th but the whole of caleta was quite quiet anyway, but we loved it and we prefer to stay in corralejo this was our first time in caleta but yes i would go back tomorrow it was great. it was better quiet as you all got to know each other and the kids all played together.
