Celebrity have pulled out of the Australia/New Zealand market.
They have cancelled all the cruises for late 2009 and 2010. They will deploy these Millennium and Mercury to the US home market.
Statement on the Cruise Critic message board. This does not effect me as I am booked on the November sailing.
They are obviously finding it hard to sell the rooms and have made significant reduction of fares over all grades but sadly all the guarantee suites etc are not available for Solo cruiser. I did get a discounted +55 deal some months ago. I assume that the other dates may have similar problems. A lot of US passengers use Air Miles to travel and OZ is not an easy option for routes etc.
Who knows there may be some good deals out there for those with the time and the high cost of flights.

Just as well you are booked this year, otherwise you may not have been able to get out there with a suitable cruiseline that meets your preferences! Glad it is next year and not affecting your booking.
For those who don't they will cancel and will receive Compensation. The Company are obviously cutting their loses and taking an action saying that people want more cruises on the West and East Coast of the US. The economic situation in the US has an effect here and it is the cost of flights that are deterring people.
They are selling Guarantee Suites on my cruise for £1600 for a 14 night cruise Guarantee balcony for just over £650.
Add the flights etc and it will cost probably the best part of £1000 although once Christmas is over there will be flights at a more favourable rate.
