Has anyone been to the Centara Grand before?
Is it well enough located to see the main sights of Bangkok as part of a two day stop over?
Thanks.

I haven't stayed there but have seen the hotel on my travels around Bangkok. It's very central, close to two Skytrain stations and loads of shops. The train doesn't go as far as the Grand Palace but you can ride it as far as the river then get a boat to the palace or take a taxi.
It is in a very congested area (but then most of Bangkok is) and the Sytrain is the best way to get around, it's air conditioned, very welcome in what is normally an extremely hot, sticky city.

Many thanks for that, we have never been to Bangkok before but will be stopping for two nights following a stay in Khao Lak. I am buying a tour guide of Bangkok so that we can plan in advance where we want to go so that we can make the most of our time there.
Looking forward to it!
Katie.
