I booked a holiday last August leaving Gatwick for Dalaman on 7th September at 7am arriving Dalaman at 13.00. Departing Dalaman on 28th September at 20.00. I paid the balance of my holiday on 26th June when I received final confirmation and the same flight dates were quoted. I phoned the company to enquire about reserving seats on the flight ( we were told at the time of booking last year that the airline would be Excel) only to be told that our flight times have been changed to Gatwick departure at 19.15 arriving Dalaman 03.15am and leaving Dalaman at 18.00hr - a total of 16hrs knocked off our total holiday plus a middle of the night arrival. If we hadn't phoned to chase up seat reservation we would not have known about the changes until we received our tickets approx 10days before departure.
I am extremely unhappy with this situation but am not sure how to proceed - any suggestions ?
looking at the small print in the brochures it deems that a change of less than 12 hours to a flight, a minor change. As your's is over 12 hours, I would have thought this would then be a major change and you should be entitled to compensation or maybe the option to cancel. Do you have the brochure? If so have a look at the small print at the back and see what it says.You could always give Ros Fernihough a call.(see free legal travel advice at the top of this section)
