Please can anyone suggest somewhere fairly prominent within or just outside the station where I can arrange to meet someone.
Many thanks
Lynn
I was just there this weekend. To be honest, the front of the main part of the station (i.e. overground trains, not underground) which looks out on the Strand is easily the best place to meet someone. Charing Cross seems to have about 5 or 6 different entrances but that main entrance is huge and you'll easily find someone if you arrange to meet there. It's between Villiers Street and and Craven Street.
or under nelsons column in trafalgar square? 5 mins from charing cross, and a nice place to hang about.
the traditional meeting place was always "under the clock" at the main entrance. A bit "Brief Encounter" but even Network Rail can't loose that!!
Thanks everyone, that's great.
Maybe just inside, if it's pouring with rain..............
Doh, I'd never make a good spy
but in case anyone else is going there, the road outside is currently being dug up, the forecourt is sealed off, and the taxi rank is now on the right as you exit the station.
PS anyone else planning a taxi transfer to another main line station, please remember that even if it is only 2 or 3 miles as the crow flies, there seem to be traffic lights every 100 yards in London, and progress is slow
Charing Cross to Euston late morning was around £10 it was over £11 going the other way on the Sunday.
welcome to my world
