As the Goa season is well and truly over I thought it would be fun to have some light hearted chatter. What is everyone up to? Anyone going away for the summer?
I am in the middle of cooking a couple of Thai dishes, in preparation for our summer holiday
Just been sent this.
Turkey (Turunc) for us in September. Hopefully a lovely British summer in the meantime.....wouldn't that be great?
two good summers in a row That would be impossible but so good if we did get it.
The rest of the summer at home on the east coast
We're just down the coast from Blackpool, Del, so we'll switch the sun on for you

East Coast sounds good to me.....Spurn point in Autumn is my heaven.
Strangely enough my new next door neighbour is just moving from there, he's something to do with the lifeboat based there.
Roma, don't think that we will get up to Preston area, will be nipping across to Bolton to see friends there.
Now that you have promised to turn the sun on for us I will just pack shorts, t-shirts and sandals
I am off in July to Cambodia and Thailand
I am off in July to Cambodia and Thailand :)
Eh excuse me Mrs, as the newest mod and office junior you can't just take time off willy-nilly, you need to put it in writing in triplicate and also back that up with several emails, faxes and text messages and a written note from both your parents which must also have been authenticated by you grandparents.
Only then once it has been submitted on the front page of mod's holidays will it even be considered, and as we treat everything with the utmost apathy nobody will even look at your request.
So sorry you can't go on holiday now
Graham
ps I can take your place though
No you can't! You have too many booked already
I'm off to Thailand ( hopefully) and Cambodia in July
If only we had this weather all the time! What a beautiful day today
So we have just bought a Caravan and have decided that after seeing a large part of the world over the last 20 years its time we took our little rascal with us and saw some of Great Britain.
However thats not to say we will miss our Goan fix once a year. Just Thailand the Far East and Carribean may be off our list for now.
Papa
We used to just take off in the car and stop where ever we fancied. I particularly loved seeing the West coast of Scotland. Beautiful places there. But we did venture as far as Cornwall- which is quite a distance from us Just think- you can take everything with you. No luggage allowance
Yes Fiona,
well- not too sure about that- best not to head out on a Bank Holiday
Forgot about the traffic. Oh dear.
We didn't manage a visit to Goa last year due to finances and although we had resigned ourselves to not going, it was absolute hell seeing everyone disappearing off on their own Goa jaunts, can't begin to tell you how green with envy it made me! 2014 was a different story and we managed our previous 3 week visit, it was SO lovely to see our friends but as always the time ran out very fast and their was a lot of people we didn't get to see. This year was our first trip via Mumbai and it went off well, no major probs with the new airport there although signposting could have been better, luckily a member of staff escorted a few of us so we didn't get lost! Think we might have had problems if she hadn't! Dabolim too was a breeze and it was a surprise that on our departure the staff were actually pleasant :-) As a result we will be back in 2015 for 4.5 weeks and travelling with Qatar (our preferred route/airline). Hoping to catch up with ALL our friends then.
Like Papa, we have invested in a 2 berth caravan to get away for regular long weekends in the UK, still in the process of setting up the van but almost there and very excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby is now retired (well, he's supposed to be but still putting in hours) and I was made redundant on 31st May so we will have time on our hands now - so nice not having to rise at 6 each morning and do 13 hour shifts!
Family are doing well, particularly Naomi who I'm sure you will be happy to hear is still responding well to her treatment. She has another scan in July and it's always a very worrying time :-( All we can hope for is a "No spread" outcome each time but as I said, she is doing fine at present. Naomi has been very busy since I last spoke to you on here, setting up her charity The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, some of you may have heard of it as she has been on TV, on the radio, in the papers - winning awards etc., it's hard keeping up with everything she is doing so if you want to know what she HAS been doing just google her charity!
The Grand Children are keeping us busy as you would expect. Rachael turned 4 in April and Devon turns 4 in September, Michelle turned 6 at the end of February - all attending either pre-school/school and getting on very well. Just wish the years wouldn't fly by so fast :-)
Well, that's it from me, hoping that life is treating you all very well and that you have booked your flights to Goa - you never know - may see you there. All the very best...........love Fizzy2
It's great to hear from you again. I am so pleased to hear about Naomi. I did see her on TV. You must be such a proud mum. Is it on you tube?
When are you back in Goa?
