Hi
When I spoke to a TC agent a while back, she told us that if we booked online and printed off our boarding passes that we did not need to be at the airport two hours before but could check in 90 mins before the flight?
Is this still the case? We have an early flight 6.05am and with four kids it will be difficult as it is!!
So by my reckoning as long as we check in by 4.30am that should be ok??
Thanks
Thomas Cook still recommend that you have dropped bags etc no later than 90 mins before departure.
Thanks, we did try to change flights, my husband is epileptic and one of his triggers is early mornings! hence three fits before holidays!! but no luck.... I was stupid when I booked them, forgetting we have to check in hours before flights! We have at least booked a hotel at the airport so less travelling time!!
From experience we always go a little earlier - just in case. In May they decided to close junctions 1,2 & 3 of the M56 without warning and no posted diversions. At 3.45am when you need to exit at Jn 2 things become a little tricky. Quite a detour to get to the car park and added 45 minutes onto the journey.

The OP has booked a hotel at the airport.
At Stansted in June it took us 75 minutes to get through the bag drop and the mayhem at security, we did not have time for breakfast or any shopping. If I were you I would get there 2 hours before your flight.
Thanks all, I am notorious for getting us to the airport very early!! sometimes 3 hrs normally!!
Look at it this way. A little early and if there are problems then you can give yourself a pat on the back for your foresight. Just shows how sensible you were when look at all those stressed out people. What a way to start a holiday - rather than you being one of them.
