Hi, are there any places in North Goa that don't really welcome children in the evenings?
I know obvious places such as clubs don't, we dont want to go there anyway
What we usually do is go out around 7 for our evening meal, little lad has a snack on the beach around 4-5, then scoffs his face with crisps when we get ready to go out in the evening.
This year we want to have our meal then go somewhere for a few drinks, obviously not until too late, between 10 and 11pm with our little boy.
I have just read the thread about molly malones, and it has got me wondering , because its like an adult themed place, and i dont really want to take him somewhere were we wont feel welcome
I know of one particular place where i dont want to take him, ive forgot the name, and its location, but its were they smoke weed, or hash or whatever you want to call it.
Another quick question, is it wednesdays the beach shacks have the firework display and bbq?
Thanks
Nicola
There is a place just past candolim, called sweet chillies on a wednesday night they do a carnival theme for children, all characters, fire show etc. The food is not that good but ok for children to watch show, you need to get there for 7ish to get good table at front.
Took my 9 year old daughter in molly mallones last year no problem but the guiness was the most expensive I have ever drank
As per previous popst can really recommend sweet chilli on a Wednesday night. Childrens entertainers, dancing, face painting. Our 2 loved it. It's at the Sinquerim end of Candolim but well worth the journey. We never had a problem with anywhere making us feel unwelcome with our children.
The pub/restaurant with the smoking etc might be Banana Moon in Calangute
You will have a great nite at the shacks tho and the staff are really good with children.
Thanks for the recommendations, will definetly be heading to candolim for the kids night.
1 tip yummymummy, at sweet chillies watch the bill, tired to overcharge on drinks by not 1 or 2, also they do add service charge as well, if you do eat there the portions are very small.
We will watch out for the bill, any unwanted extras included on the bill they will not get a penny for.
Thanks
Nicola
We can't go this year as we now have a little girl and she is too young. So I am gutted and having to make do with this website !!!
Still, we are just about to book for Jan 09 She will be 18 months by then, the same age our son was when we first took him.
Have a great holiday and should you pop into the Silver Sands, say Maria, Robin and little George say hi !!
I first took my little lad when he was 6 and a half months old, we went for 3 weeks. He was fine, just kept him in the shade all day, played with bucket and spades, and went in the swimming pool etc.
We go in 8 days, im really looking forward to it
Nicola
Yes thats it Silver Sands! Been in the shack before but the name just escaped me when I was posting. They have BBQ night on Sundays Nicola and all the lads are very nice.
Ta Gemma, il make a note of that.
Fairplay for taking baby that young. All our family thought we were crazy when we took an 18month old. But then most of them haven't been further than Spain LOL !
Erin is 5 months old, and I just thought it would be a nightmare with sterilising etc, and all the stuff we'd need to take. I also didn't think they could have their jabs that young.
Anyway hope you have a great holiday. Where are you staying ?
Talking about sterilising equipment, i dont know how the heck i managed to fit all my sons swim nappies, bottles etc in my suitcase
During the frequent power cuts we had to keep going to the restaurant in our hotel for them to get us hot water to make bottles, but he wasnt really on much milk, he was on that progress milk, but had lots of baby food, i just took the cow and gate baby food in packets that you add hot water to.
