Hi all! Will soon be on our way back to Majorca - can't wait!!
I was talking to somebody the other day that said the cigarette allowance had changed???
For the last few years the allowance has been 16 sleeves for each person??
Does anybody know if this has changed and if so what to?
Any advice would be appreciated

There are no limits but you may be asked questions if you are carrying a large quantity. Stick to one brand so you can prove that they are for your own use. Keep your receipts.
It also refers to "allowances". There are no "allowances" in the EU, there are "guidelines" as to how much you can freely move between countries.
Although the guidelines were revised in October from 3200 to 800 cigarettes, you can still take as many as you want. However if you are stopped at Customs, you must be able to prove that they are for personal use or gifts.

He's now worried to bring that many back even though there are no 'limits' - as he says - how can you prove that they are for personal use?
If you stick to the one brand and keep your receipts then there shouldn't be a problem. We always bring back 3200.
Ooo fab - that will cheer up hubby - such a saving!! Though I wish he'd give them up
If you were hopping over the Channel every month and bringing back 3200 you would have a problem convincing Customs that they were for personal use.
