julie- you are not allowed to buy duty free cigarettes or alcohol if you are travelling to an EU country. When you make a purchase at the shop they ask for your boarding card and refuse the sale if it is EU.
Julie - find a tobacconist in your resort and get them there - usually cheaper than getting them from home and certainly cheaper thn Palma airport duty free shop.
you will usualy find that DUTY PAID at point of purchase in the EU is cheaper than DUTY PAID at the airport.. under EEC regulations you can only purchase DUTY FREE goods when traveling OUTSIDE the EEC countries...
Cigarette prices vary in Spain depending on brand. Tobacconists usually charge between Euros25-Euros29 for 200 - this works out at approximately £18.50 for B&H @ Euros29.
As Kate52 said, you are not able to buy from duty free shops in this country if you are travelling to a EU country.
Buy them in resort and you can bring an allowance of 3200 per adult home with you
Remember that the Canaries are not part of the EU - we got caught out in April and had all our cigs confiscated by customs Allowance from the Canaries is 200 per person
